Our "Orphan Quilt Blocks" Charity Quilts

Since we are all avid quilters, we fondly discovered that we all had piles of extra quilt squares in our sewing rooms. We defined them as Orphan blocks - blocks without a home or project. Therefore, we created an Orphan Block challenge. We pooled our squares into random piles, generally by color. We assigned each pile of squares a number and then drew numbers out of a basket.

Some of us had an easier time setting the quilts. Some fit together more easily, some had no theme at all ! For some, it was simply needing to add the perfect border, or choosing the right sashing/setting. Some of us had even greater setting challenges. It was so much fun seeing each gal's setting choice and creativity shine through. How satisfying it is to see our old quilting squares, ones we were all tired of looking at, put into such lovely settings.

These will be donated to our local Quilt Guild for their charity donations.

Well done !
